Entering Week 19

Week 19. The bump has really come out now. We've been planning the baby shower. We've chosen our 'Life Choice Guardians' - or 'Guardians of the Galaxy' as they could be called. We've got a couple of weddings coming up within the space of a week, so will finally see if these outfits the wife has chosen will fit her right. We've been listening to her heartbeat a lot on her dopla. She is super-duper wiggly. Not much else to report really. We've got our last scan on 4th July. Our parental leave etc is currently going through at work so thats coming along. sorry for a boring one. Hope for more entertainment next time.

18 Weeks, What Next?

We’ve reached week 18. And lady bug had decided she wants to be seen by everyone now. She has also decided she wants to be a footballer already with all the kicking she’s doing, which my mum will hate 🤣  We’ve had a heat wave.  The wife is complaining her jeans aren’t fitting now, and we’re struggling with finding outfits that fit as we have 2 weddings coming up! The issue is, the wife doesn’t generally wear womens clothes so she’s finding it hard to feel comfortable in any clothes. We’re excited that we are going away to Cornwall in a couple of weeks.  We’ve started organising our baby shower.   A friend at work gave us a dopla machine that they used for their pregnancy, we used it the other day, found the heart beat straight away, she’s got a good strong heart beat of 155bpm. Obviously we know not to use it when we think there’s an issue so no need to remind us 😉

So, What was it?

The day started sleepily. Both being rather excited to sleep very well. Having been adamant this whole time, I woke up this morning having a feeling it’d be a girl. We traveled to my parents, myself and my dad wore blue, mum and the wife wore pink. Thankfully my dad drove as I was super excited. We drove all the way to Window To The Womb in Romsey. I’d highly recommend going there over the Reading branch. The interior was really nice, staff extremely helpful and there was an abundance of parking. We checked in with the receptionist, and we had to fill out a form on a tablet. I liked the feature that we could put both of our names ‘baby of Kelly & Louise’   We got into the room for the scan, it was definitely very roomy indeed, there were 2 sofas for my parents to sit on and well as multiple screens to look at. We heard the very strong heart beat again of our little jelly bean. And saw a little 4D sneak peak. We all had to close our eyes when the sonographer was looking t...

The 16 Week Midwife Appointment

This appointment actually fell on our 17th week. As you can see by the pictures it looks like the wife has eaten a large Chinese buffet (her fav). So for this appointment we met our midwife who we’d be seeing at our dr surgery throughout the pregnancy. She was blooming lovely. She seemed to understand us being a same sex couple so avoided all donor related questions. Relief . This appointment was just a lot of questions and paperwork really, as we are having the baby in a different county to which we currently live it’s just a case of tallying up what the hospital of said with the midwife. (How all hospitals don’t communicate in this day and age, considering they are all NHS, I don’t know) So all is good on everything . She then asked if we had heard the heart beat. We said no. She said we were In Luck 🙌🏼 After a little wrestle with jelly bean, by which I mean they were kicking the dopla we managed to get a nice clear heart beat sound. As soon as we had the recording, we went t...

Entering Week 16

So the wife has been able to feel the bubba move, well, we think so. She said its like a swishy feeling? Like the baby is doing summersaults haha. But I am yet to be able to feel bubba. We've been discussing cots. We have a next to me bed for now and we know the baby probably won't need to go in a cot for a while, so is there any point buying one right now, or just waiting?  Help would be appreciated :)  Also, Next week (11th June 2022) is our private gender scan.  Kelly had a dream last night that the baby is a boy. I think now she doesn't think its a girl anymore haha!
