We traveled to my parents, myself and my dad wore blue, mum and the wife wore pink.
Thankfully my dad drove as I was super excited. We drove all the way to Window To The Womb in Romsey.
I’d highly recommend going there over the Reading branch. The interior was really nice, staff extremely helpful and there was an abundance of parking.
We checked in with the receptionist, and we had to fill out a form on a tablet. I liked the feature that we could put both of our names ‘baby of Kelly & Louise’
We got into the room for the scan, it was definitely very roomy indeed, there were 2 sofas for my parents to sit on and well as multiple screens to look at.
We heard the very strong heart beat again of our little jelly bean. And saw a little 4D sneak peak.
We all had to close our eyes when the sonographer was looking to see what the gender of our baby was.
And then the scan was finished. We’d brought some cannons to do an announcement but they were different looking ones so we knew which was which. So we ended up buying some there.
We went and picked up the wife’s dad. Then travelled to Brambridge garden centre. We walked a little down the river Itchen to do the reveal (nothing fancy here) I’ll insert video here, well my TikTok video anyway, as the other video is too large to upload haha ➡️
So yeah we found out it was a GIRL!
Our little lady bug is a super wiggly bum.
We went for a breakfast celebration at the garden centre which was amazing and we drank the most amazing Prosecco! (I don’t usually like Prosecco)
Then, naturally after all this we went to Gunwharf (after dropping the wife’s dad off) to see if we could get a few baby clothes. And the wife went a little crazy in Joules haha!
But now we need to sit down and see what we have to see what we need.
Any advice on the necessities?
It feels like, since we went to a scan at Andover previously, we haven't had any issues with us being a same sex couple expecting a baby. Maybe just some of the midwives at Reading are living so far in the past!?
