Week 37

The week leading up to our week 37 picture, has been a bit busy. I'll explain why the bump looks a little smaller a bit further on in the blog.

My parents came back with a gift for ladybug to go in her bedroom, so here mum is modelling it.

My cousin Joe and his gf Megan are expecting a baby also, like 2 weeks after us and we went to her baby shower which was beautiful! They haven't found out what they are having so its all going to be a complete surprise for them! I'm so happy for them and they are going to be great parents.

On the same day, we also went to my brother Joes baseball race night/presentation. We haven't had a picture with him through out the pregnancy so we knew we needed to get one! even if he is drunk. TBF I think he's going to be that drunk gay uncle everyone always warns you about. Because he is drunk like 99.9percent of the time. Its not diabetes he tests for, its to see if there's enough blood to alcohol content in his body haha, I joke.

We made some amazing pumpkins, I've never made pumpkins before, tbs I don't usually have the patience. mines the proper crazy Moana one, the wife made Pua from Moana. obvs we went for a Moana theme. Mum is adamant we are naming our daughter Moana so thought it'd be funny to make these haha.

And again, Dogs Make Blogs. In opposite beds this time though haha.

At the start of the blog I mentioned about the wifes bump being smaller. That's because on the eve of the week 37 picture we thought we were going into labour. We were ok, up until around 2230, throwing up then the bowels cleared and the contractions started. I started panicking, got dressed again, started getting the last minute bits together. Had the contraction timer on the go. Which did start telling me we needed to go to hospital. Yeah, those Braxton hicks are no joke. About half hour, 45 mins later, everything died down, and the wife managed to get back to bed and get to sleep. I'm buzzing cuz I was like, omg I'm going to meet my daughter. But yeah, not happening. I still have to wait. urgh.

Of course I was making light of the situation, as I had been informed by someone that diarrhoea was a sign labour is coming, so me being me had been asking all week 'have you had diarrhoea' yet? always that answer was no, until that night. But through the crying with laughter and excitedness the wife shouted she had diarrhoea lmao! TMI I know. but yeah. nothing came of it. And by the end of the day of week 37 bump was back to normal. As you can see by these pictures though, even lady bug seemed to think it was time.

The wife did say when she went to her 36 week check up that ladybug was measuring at 35 weeks, having been measuring normally up til then, the midwife thinks she's more than ready and in position, and as long as she comes after 37 weeks she'd be happy. So come onnnnn lady bug.

So, What was it?

The day started sleepily. Both being rather excited to sleep very well. Having been adamant this whole time, I woke up this morning having a feeling it’d be a girl. We traveled to my parents, myself and my dad wore blue, mum and the wife wore pink. Thankfully my dad drove as I was super excited. We drove all the way to Window To The Womb in Romsey. I’d highly recommend going there over the Reading branch. The interior was really nice, staff extremely helpful and there was an abundance of parking. We checked in with the receptionist, and we had to fill out a form on a tablet. I liked the feature that we could put both of our names ‘baby of Kelly & Louise’   We got into the room for the scan, it was definitely very roomy indeed, there were 2 sofas for my parents to sit on and well as multiple screens to look at. We heard the very strong heart beat again of our little jelly bean. And saw a little 4D sneak peak. We all had to close our eyes when the sonographer was looking t...

How We Told People

Because we had been trying for so long, we had thought of many ways to tell people we were pregnant.  We know it was super early, but we were super excited. And we were only letting certain people know. My parents, the wifes dad, my brother, the wifes brother and sister in law, the wifes sister, and also one of my cousins who I'm close with and 2 of my aunts and uncles. So you know, just a little circle. Bar my aunts, uncles and Cousin, everyone else got cards and baby grows announcing we were pregnant. For my cousin and her husband, they had covid at the time so we offered to take them round some Costa coffees. The first heartbreaking issue we encounter was when we gave my aunts scratch cards - they know we're generally jokers so they didn't trust us. But they scratched them off anyway, they're those scratch cards you get off amazon that basically say we're pregnant once all scratched off. So yeah, they were both shocked and excited. The one ...

Week 22 - The One With The Heatwave

Week 22 - the week of the great British heatwave. We’re currently on the 2nd day of over 35 degrees (but obviously we’ve had plenty of glorious late 20 degree days before this point). Which would normally be blooming glorious had we been abroad. But as our lovely great british  houses are made to keep warmth in, you could imagine how we are all sleeping. Especially the wife. I’m waking up in the night to get playing on her phone and just struggling. Lady bug is kicking around as she’s all like mummy’s help I’m like a boil in the bag rice. Aren’t we all darling, aren’t we all! Some things have come to light this week. The wife has been really emotional, which has been hard to get a handle of as I’m used to her being like a brick wall when it comes to emotions. She’s had comments about her pregnancy belly, and the ‘strange’ line. It’s not a strange line, it’s your body. Embrace it baby.  We brought a cheeky hot tub! Nice little one for the 2 of us. We had our niece and ne...
